TRX all-time high
Tron is currently 22.0% below its all-time high of $0.431288, set on 2024-12-03, about 1 years and 9 months ago. Getting back to that level would take a 28% move from today's $0.336594.
What is Tron (TRX)?
Tron's coin, TRX, is what pays for activity on the Tron network. The network matters far more than the coin does: the overwhelming majority of USDT transfers happen here, because a TRC-20 transfer costs a fraction of an Ethereum one and confirms in about three seconds.
Fees work unusually. Instead of paying gas directly, accounts can freeze TRX to receive bandwidth and energy, which then covers transactions without spending the coin. Many people hold a small TRX balance for exactly this reason — without it, a wallet full of USDT cannot send anything.
Consensus is delegated proof of stake: 27 elected super representatives produce blocks, and holders vote for them by staking. That gives high throughput and low cost at the price of a much smaller validator set than Ethereum's, a trade-off the network makes deliberately.
As a swap destination TRX is usually functional rather than speculative: you buy some to keep your stablecoin transfers moving, not to hold it.
Practical points for a swap. A Tron address starts with T and is the same for TRX and for every TRC-20 token, including USDT — that is convenient and also the reason people send the wrong asset to the right address. The network accepts it, but the receiving service may only be watching for one of them.
Activating a fresh Tron address costs a small amount of TRX, so a brand new wallet needs its first incoming transfer to be TRX rather than a token. Freezing TRX for energy is worth doing if you send often: without it every transfer burns coin, and the difference over a month of regular USDT transfers is noticeable.
For swapping, the coin is worth holding in small amounts and watching in none: its price moves with the market like everything else, but the reason it sits in most wallets is functional. If you move stablecoins regularly, the question is not whether TRX is a good investment but whether you have enough of it to send the next transfer.
Questions people ask first
What is the minimum TRX swap?
200 TRX. Below that the network fee eats too much of the transfer to be worth sending; the exact figure per direction is shown in the table above.
How much is 1 TRX worth right now?
About $0.336594, −0.59% over the past 24 hours. The figure on this page is taken from a public market feed when the page is built and refreshed in your browser.
Which network is TRX sent on?
TRC20 by default. Make sure the receiving address belongs to that network.
Which TRX pairs are available?
2 directions on this site: USDT to TRX, TRX to USDT. Each has its own page with the current rate and the minimum.
Do I need an account to swap TRX?
No. There is no registration and no identity check for a standard swap: you send from your own wallet and name the receiving address at the exchange step.
Non-custodial by design
Coins go from your wallet to your wallet. Nothing sits in an account here, so there is no balance to freeze or lose.
Rates you can check
The quote comes from a public market feed and refreshes while you read it. The final amount is confirmed at the exchange step.
AML rules stated up front
Standard swaps need no identity check. A transfer flagged by compliance rules may require verification — that is said before you send, not after.
